About the event
When therapy stalls, where do you look next?
As Speech-Language Pathologists, we’ve all had those cases—the child working tirelessly on articulation, phonation, or motor planning who hits an unexplainable plateau, or the client whose progress resets the moment conscious effort stops. Often, the roadblock isn't in traditional speech execution; it's hiding underneath in underlying oral mechanics, resting posture, and airway health.
The Missing Link is an interactive, peer-to-peer workshop designed specifically for fellow SLPs and allied providers. We’re opening our doors to discuss how oral myofunctional therapy (OMT) and airway-centered care complement traditional speech-language protocols—and how collaborative care creates lasting therapeutic breakthroughs.
What We’ll Cover:
Recognizing the Indicators: How to identify root-cause oral resting posture, mouth breathing, and oral restriction signs during routine speech evaluations.
Knowing When to Refer: Clear clinical markers that signal a client needs myofunctional intervention rather than continued traditional speech drill.
