"The Run Around"

Many families come to us after months of feeling dismissed, overwhelmed, or stuck in the “try this and see” cycle. Maybe you were told your baby has CMPA without any actual testing, encouraged to switch formulas or bottles like it’s your full‑time job, or pushed into triple feeding with no end in sight. Maybe breastfeeding became too painful to continue, or you were reassured that staying on purées or meltables for far too long was “fine” when something deeper actually needed attention. If you’re tired of the runaround and ready for clear answers, compassionate support, and a plan that actually fits your baby — you’re in the right place.

Breastfeeding, Pumping, & Bottles

Feeding your baby can feel overwhelming when you’re juggling latch pain, bottle refusal, pumping confusion, or advice that changes by the day. We support families through the real‑life challenges—navigating mastitis, creating sustainable pump schedules, getting baby back to breast, and understanding the signs of colic or reflux that often get brushed off. Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle‑feeding, pumping, or doing a mix of everything, you deserve clear guidance that actually fits your baby and your life. Tongue and Lip Tie

Many families find us after being pushed toward a quick procedure without ever receiving a true, comprehensive evaluation or therapy plan. We prepare the mouth, the body, and you—so if a release is needed, your baby has the coordination, strength, and stamina to benefit from it. Maybe you were told there’s “just a lip tie” and to “do some stretches,” or someone assessed for ties without even looking inside the mouth. We help you understand what’s really going on, and avoid the common mistake of focusing only on the frenectomy instead of function. Our team also coordinates with trusted PTs, OTs, chiropractors, and bodyworkers so your baby receives complete, effective support.

Parents often reach out when feeding feels harder than it should. Unfortunately, we are often the 2nd or 3rd provider they are seeing. The majority of families come to us with the following :
•     Hospitals not having lactation staff upon delivery

•   Ongoing feeding challenges despite being told it’s “just a little lip tie”
•     Multiple formula changes with continued symptoms or poor weight gain

•     Head shaping issues  or torticollis

•     Confusion around suspected or over‑diagnosed CMPA
•     Breastfeeding difficulties such as shallow latch, nipple pain, clicking, or long, inefficient feeds or recurrent mastitis
•     Bottle feeding issues, including leaking, collapsing nipples, refusal, or inconsistent intake
•     Reflux, gas, or digestive discomfort that doesn’t improve with typical strategies
•     Trouble transitioning between breast, bottle, pacifier, or pumping
•     Concerns about tongue tie, lip tie, or oral tension affecting feeding
•     Pacifier dependence or difficulty soothing without one
•     Uncertainty about starting solids or identifying true readiness
•     Gagging, coughing, or difficulty managing textures when beginning solids
•     Fear of moving past purées or refusal of textured foods therefore reverting back to easier textures or bottle
•     Feeding sessions that feel stressful, confusing, or developmentally “off”.

Our infant‑feeding team is uniquely qualified because our clinicians are not only IBCLCs and CLCs, but also licensed speech‑language pathologists with advanced training in the anatomy and physiology of swallowing—expertise that includes the ability, under SLP licensure, to interpret diagnostic imaging such as MBS and FEES. While we do not perform these studies at Lingua, this depth of clinical knowledge allows us to assess feeding concerns with a level of precision and safety that goes far beyond traditional lactation support, giving families truly elevated care.

Our team provides evidence‑based, whole‑family support to help you understand what’s going on and create a clear, gentle plan forward.

We are the only clinic in the Scranton Wilkes-Barre area that specializes in all things related to the tongue, including tongue tie! We have poured so much love, attention, time, and money into all things tongue that we just knew we had to name the business LINGUA!
